LS 2014

As India is undergoing one of the massive voting ever. This election will be the largest and longest election ever with total electoral population of 81.45 crores. It will be held in nine stages across the country over five weeks and it has already been started on April 7th and the results will be declared on 16th May. UP will have the highest no of voters followed by Maharashtra. India has added a population greater than that of  Philippines to its voter rolls in five years. As Election commissioners are busying to beef up security at polling stations and doing their best to check illegal voting and bribes. They are even monitoring the distribution, storage and movement of liquors to check alcohol given as bribes to woo voters. The income tax department and the government's financial intelligence unit have been advised to keep an eye on the movement of cash during elections. Booth  officers will trave to every door list those people who are out of home or dead voters, 930000 polling stations have been set up to facilitate voters. Transgenders can mark their genders as others. NOTA (None of the above) option will  be used for the first time in this election. Elections were never been so important for people than this year. We saw for the first time these improvements in conducting elections in world's largest democracy. The ECI showed  that their role is very important in maintaining democracy. Whether it is shifting of Officials in West Bengal or registering FIR against Amit shah for using remarks to incite violence. Even small parties refused to take shelter under the Scam tainted Congress or the communal BJP. The whole hearted effort of small parties led to the emergence of third front. The resentment of Aam Admi shook the throne of Delhi and new Party  was born as AAP proved a harbinger of hope for the common people. So whoever wins must be aware that the common people are much more conscious than ever.
